Green Hydrogen
As part of its strategic focus, HSC began a research effort focused on development of “green” hydrogen for energy use
- Natural supplies of pure hydrogen are limited when compared to surging demand
- Hydrogen can be produced in various ways, but current processes are energy inefficient, costly and can create unwanted by-products, leading to the phrase “dirty or grey” hydrogen and lower production efficiency
- The current generation of Alkaline Water Electrolysis (“AWE”) stacks used to generate hydrogen are in need of an upgrade to enhance MW production output whilst lowering the cost of production closer to or under US$ 3.0 per kilogram
